Akbaruddin Owaisi is an Indian politician based in Hyderabad, Andhra Pradesh. He belongs to All India Majlis-e Ittihad al-Muslimin, is an MLA of the Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly. Akbaruddin is a member of the Owaisi family, he is the son of Sultan Salahuddin Owaisi and the younger brother of Asaduddin Owaisi. He is the M.D.( managing director) of owaisi hospital which was setup by his father.
In 1995, Owaisi to married a Christian woman, who converted to Islam and took the name of Sabina Farzana after opposed by his father Salahuddin Owaisi. The couple has one daughter Fathima and son Nooruddin.
In 2004, Akbaruddin became the leader of MIM in the Assembly upon Asaduddin's election to Lok Sabha from Hyderabad.He was re-elected in 2009 and lead the seven-member MIM in the House.
Akbaruddin Owaisi is known for his Controversial speeches. In a rally he used the Urdu words katil (murderer), darinda (monster), beimaan (dishonest), dhokebaaz (cheat), and chor (thief) for the former Prime Minister of India P V Narasimha Rao.
