Arvind Kejriwal is an Indian politician and former civil servant who was the 7th Chief Minister of Delhi from 28 December 2013 to 14 February 2014. He launched the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) in 2012. Arvind is a  former Indian Revenue Service officer, he is better known for his key role in drafting the Jan Lokpal Bill.
Born to  Gobind Ram Kejriwal and Gita Devi. father, Gobind Ran Kejriwal, was an electrical engineer from the Birla Institute of Technology, Mesra. arvind Kejriwal graduated in mechanical engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur.  He married to sunita, an IRS officer.
Arvind’s party AAP  contested elections for the first time on 4 December 2013 for the Delhi legislative assembly. Arvind Kejriwal defeated Sheila Dikshit, who had been the chief minister of Delhi for three successive terms.
He won the 2006 Ramon Magsaysay Award for Emergent Leadership for his contribution to empower the poorest at the grassroots level and implement the Right to Information Act (RTI) and founded the NGO ‘Public Cause Research Foundation’ in 2006 with award money. In 2011, Kejriwal, along with Anna Hazare, received the Indian of the Year award from NDTV.
