Chris Brasher was a British athlete, sports journalist and co-founder of the London Marathon. C.W. Brasher, he was simply a capable middle distance runner who appeared to lack that extra something which is required of the absolute top liner. His best marks 3min 53.6sec for 1500m, 4min 06.8 sec. for the mil and 8 min 15.4 sec. for 3000m. He was married to tennis champion Shirley Brasher.
