Ibn Battuta was a Moroccan explorer, scholar and traveler. He is known for his extensive travels. Ibn Battuta visited Islamic and also non-Muslim countries. His journeys included trips to North Africa, West Africa and Eastern Europe, and to the Middle East, South Asia, Central Asia, Southeast Asia and China and India. His journeys lasted for a period of almost thirty years. he is considered one of the greatest travellers of all time. He is known for his extensive travels, accounts of which were published in the Rihla, the Rihla provides an important account of many areas of the world in the 14th century.
