Sarat Chandra Bose Indian independence activist. He was the maternal uncle of Prabhat Ranjan Sarkar. Born in howrah, Bengal on 6 september 1889 to Janakinath Bose and Prabhabati Bose sarat was the elder brother of Netaji subhas Chandra bose and famous cardiologist Dr. Sunil Chandra Bose. He was one from the 14 children’s  of his parents.
Sarat studied in Presidency College and University of Calcutta than hr went to England and became a barrister in 1911. He quit his practice and join Indian independence movement.
He became the member of all India congress committee. He join the quit India movement and also support Indian national army which formed by his brother subhas Chandra bose. He became a minister in a national executive council which led by Jawaharlal Nehru and Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel.
He opposed the partition of Bengal and tried, in co-operation with Sahid Suhrawardy. After India's independence, Bose form the Socialist Republican Party, advocating a socialist system for Bengal and India. Sarat bose died in 1950, in Calcutta.
He married to Bivabati Dey in 1910. They had eight children’s which of them Sisir Kumar Bose and Subrata Bose was Member of Parliament.
