  Shashi Kapoor, born as Balbir Raj Prithviraj Kapoor on 18 March 1938, is an Indian film actor and film producer, is the youngest son of theater and film actor Prithviraj Kapoor and his wife Ramsarni "Rama" Mehra Kapoor. He  is the younger brother of Raj Kapoor and Shammi Kapoor. He married the British actress Jennifer Kendal.
Shashi kapoor started his acting career as a child artist in films like ‘Aag’, ‘Awaara’  but as leading actor debut in Yash Chopra’s ‘Dharamputra’. He starred in superhit films like ‘Deewar’ alongside Neetu Singh and Parveen Babi, ‘Do Aur Do Paanch’ alongside Parveen Babi and Hema Malini, ‘Namak Halaal’ alongside Parveen Babi and Smita Patil, ‘Kabhi Kabhie’ alongside Rakhee and Waheeda Rehman, ‘Silsila’ alongside Jaya Bachchan and Rekha.


He won the Filmfare Best Supporting Actor Award for Deewaar (1975). He won two Filmfare Best Movie Awards for his work as producer and star of Junoon (1979) and Kalyug (1981).
