Manoj Prabhakar is a former Indian Cricketer. He was born in Ghaziabad on April 15, 1963. He used to be a medium spacer (right hand) and a batsman (low order). Sometimes he used to play opening innings also. He took his retirement in 1995 -1996. Manoj Prabhakar was a fiercly competitive cricketer with a never say die' attitude, and it was this streak in him that made him a feared yet respected opponent in world cricket.

Prabhakar was effective at both Tests and limited overs form of the game. He was a dependable right-hand batsman, whose excellent defence and timed stroke play made him a capable lower-order batsman or even an effective opener. Prabhakar was also an aggressive medium-pacer, adept at swing and deceptive slower deliveries, who could bowl long spells, maintaining his consistency. 
ICC banned him from playing cricket because of the mach fixing scandal. He took 96 wickets (Test) and made record of 157 runs in One day matches. He also played for Durham. In First class cricket he has taken 385 wickets while playing for Delhi. He was very useful for the team as a lower order batsman also. After his retirement from cricket he entered politics and cosmetic business.
