Mary Teresa Slaney biography

Mary Teresa Slaney is an American former track athlete. Mary decker USA (b.-Aug. 4, 1958) She wonmary decker Gold in 1500 m and 3000 m in World Championships 1983. Her unfortunate collision with Zola Budd during the 1984 Olympic 3000 m final in Los Angeles and the less than tactful outburst against Zola afterwards meant that Mary Decker first came to the attention of a large section of the British public through the surrounding controversy and its aftermath She was briefly coached by the almost legendary Bill Bowerman in Eugene, Oregon, where she now lived.
