William Patrick "Parry" O'Brien (January 28, 1932 – April 21, 2007) was an American shot put athlete. P.O. Brien, he took part in four Olympic games, coming first in 1952 (17.41m) and 1956 (18.57m), third in 1960 (19.11m) and fourth in 1964 (19.20m). Brien remained unbeaten for 116 contests between 1952 and 1956, the largest number of consecutive victories in any athletics event. He was inducted into the U.S. hall of fame.
